When women get abortions it is because they feel that they aren't fit to bring a child into this world for any sort of reason or because it’s not safe for her or the baby, not because the woman is evil.

In Real Life |
Even in a world where no woman is pressured into sex, unintended pregnancies would still occur because no contraception method is guaranteed to work every time. With such a high probability of getting pregnant unintentionally, it is unethical to solely blame the woman for accidentally getting pregnant. Because of this, taking away a woman's right to choose when, how, and even if she wants become a mother or punishing her for getting an abortion violates the basic rights of women.

One example of how strict abortion laws are affecting women is the Global Gag Rule and the recent "heartbeat bill" in Ohio. The Gag rule stopped funding for services providing abortion advice and care overseas and the bill makes abortions illegal as soon as the fetus' heartbeat can be heard. Also, the bill would make it so the woman could be prosecuted and the doctor could be penalized. There are no exceptions for rape or incest. This bill will result in more unsafe abortions. This is because when more restrictions are placed on abortion rights, women have no choice but to take matters into their own hands.

Many pro-choice advocates have been expressing their indignation at the enforcement of new abortion bills that would introduce restrictive abortion laws in US states like Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, and Mississippi. With the current conservative leaning Supreme Court, tweets and Instagram posts won't make much of a difference, but the pro-choice activists will persist.
